Voor transgender mensen die nog niet zo lang in Nederland zijn is er een nieuwe WhatsApplijn. Hier kan iedereen laagdrempelig terecht met vragen over de zorg, discriminatie, regelzaken en ontmoeting.

Of je nou vluchteling, expat, arbeidsmigrant, statushouder of internationale student bent: het is niet altijd duidelijk hoe je je weg kunt vinden als trans persoon in Nederland. Hoe werkt het zorgsysteem? Waar kun je terecht als je bent gediscrimineerd? Hoe pas je je geslachtsregistratie aan? En waar vind je gelijkgestemden?
Met deze en andere vragen kun je vanaf donderdag 20 april terecht bij de Trans in NL advice line van Transgender Netwerk. Je stuurt een appje naar 020-2446558 en op werkdagen ontvang je binnen 24 uur antwoord. Je kunt je vragen stellen in het Nederlands, Engels, Spaans of Frans.
Initiatiefnemers van Trans in NL advice line zijn Samira Hakim en Alejandra Ortiz. “We kwamen regelmatig in asielzoekerscentra waar we met trans personen spraken,” vertelt Hakim. Soms was dat op uitnodiging van het Centraal Orgaan opvang Asielzoekers, soms op eigen initiatief. “We merkten dat trans asielzoekers niet altijd weten wat hun rechten zijn, terwijl ze wel tegen veel problemen oplopen. Bijvoorbeeld omdat ze niet de zorg krijgen die ze nodig hebben.”

Zo ontstond het idee om een informatielijn te openen specifiek voor trans mensen die nog niet zo lang in Nederland zijn. Behalve asielzoekers wil de lijn ook expats, arbeidsmigranten en internationale studenten op weg helpen. “Ook zíj weten vaak niet hoe de zorg in Nederland werkt of waar je juridische hulp kunt vinden. Daarnaast zijn mensen soms geïsoleerd en hebben ze gewoon behoefte aan contact met andere trans personen. Ook daar geven we tips over.”
Hakim en Ortiz vinden het belangrijk dat zij als ervaringsdeskundigen trans mensen te woord staan. “Het helpt toch als je weet dat iemand vergelijkbare ervaringen heeft gehad.”
Behalve een algemene informatielijn, beheert Transgender Netwerk ook een telefoon- en chatlijn speciaal voor jongeren, Genderpraatjes. “We worden altijd goed gevonden door Nederlandstalige mensen, en sinds we Genderpraatjes hebben ook door jongeren,” zegt Hakim. “Maar als je geen Nederlands spreekt en geen idee hebt waar je moet beginnen, dan helpt het dat er een meertalige WhatsApplijn is waar je laagdrempelig met je vraag terechtkunt.”

Trans in NL advice line: nueva línea de WhatsApp para migrantes trans
Para las personas transgénero que no han estado en los Países Bajos por mucho tiempo, hay una nueva línea de WhatsApp. Todos pueden ir fácilmente aquí con preguntas sobre atención, discriminación, asuntos de regulación y reuniones.

Con estas y otras preguntas te puedes contactar con la línea de WhatsApp Trans in NL advice line de Transgender Network a partir del 20 de abril. Envía una aplicación al 020-2446558 y en días hábiles recibirás una respuesta dentro de las 24 horas. Puede hacer sus preguntas en holandés, inglés, español o francés.
Las iniciadoras de Trans in NL advice line son Samira Hakim y Alejandra Ortiz. “Visitamos regularmente los centros de asilo donde hablamos con personas trans”, dice Samira. A veces por invitación de la Agencia Central para la Acogida de los Solicitantes de Asilo, a veces por iniciativa propia. “Notamos que los solicitantes de asilo trans no siempre saben cuáles son sus derechos, a pesar de que enfrentan muchos problemas. Por ejemplo, porque no reciben la atención que necesitan”.
Esto dio lugar a la idea de abrir una línea de información específica para las personas trans que no han estado en los Países Bajos por mucho tiempo. Además de los solicitantes de asilo, la línea también quiere ayudar a los expatriados, trabajadores migrantes y estudiantes internacionales en su camino. “Con demasiada frecuencia no saben cómo funciona la atención médica en los Países Bajos o dónde se puede encontrar ayuda legal. Además, las personas a veces están aisladas y simplemente necesitan contacto con otras personas trans. También damos consejos sobre eso”.
Samira y Alejandra piensan que es importante que ellas, como expertas en experiencia, hablen a la gente sobre las personas. “Ayuda cuando sabes que alguien ha tenido experiencias similares”.
Transgender Netwerk es un grupo de interés para personas con diversidad de género en los Países Bajos. Vous envoyez une application au 020-2446558 et les jours ouvrables, vous recevrez une réponse dans les 24 heures. Vous pouvez poser vos questions en néerlandais, anglais, espagnol ou français.

Par exemple, parce qu’ils ne reçoivent pas les soins dont ils ont besoin.
C’est ainsi qu’est née l’idée d’ouvrir une ligne d’information spécialement pour les personnes trans qui ne sont pas aux Pays-Bas depuis si longtemps. En plus des demandeurs d’asile, la ligne veut également aider les expatriés, les travailleurs migrants et les étudiants internationaux sur leur chemin. « Trop souvent, ils ne savent pas comment fonctionnent les soins de santé aux Pays-Bas ni où trouver une aide juridique. De plus, les personnes sont parfois isolées et ont simplement besoin de contact avec d’autres personnes trans. Nous donnons également des conseils à ce sujet.
Hakim et Ortiz pensent qu’il est important qu’ils parlent aux personnes trans en tant qu’experts par expérience. “Cela aide si vous savez que quelqu’un a vécu des expériences similaires.”
Transgender Netwerk est un groupe d’intérêt pour les personnes de diverses identités de genre aux Pays-Bas. Trans in NL advice line: new WhatsApp line for transgender migrants
There is a new WhatsApp line for transgender people who have not been in the Netherlands for that long. Here everyone can enquire easily with questions about health care, discrimination, regulatory matters and meeting.

From April 20, you can contact the Trans in NL advice line of the Transgender Network with these and other questions. You send an app to 020-2446558 and on working days you will receive an answer within 24 hours. You can ask your questions in Dutch, English, Spanish or French.
Initiators of the Trans in NL advice line are Samira Hakim and Alejandra Ortiz. “We regularly visited asylum seekers’ centers where we spoke with trans people,” says Hakim. Transgender Network is an interest group for gender diverse people in the Netherlands.
