HR professionals usually wish to support gender- and sex diverse employees. Unfortunately, they often do not know how to do so. Transgender Netwerk has created a toolkit aimed at HR professionals, filled with tips, information, and training scenarios.

The position of transgender, intersex, and non-binary people at the job market is worrisome. Transgender and non-binary people face a lot of discrimination and hostility at the workplace. Moreover, HR-professionals have a lack of knowledge and expertise on this topic. Research conducted by Transgender Netwerk found that more than 1/3 of the studied HR-professionals did not know if the law requires employers to take action against the harassment of transgender, intersex, and non-binary employees by their colleagues.

To enable HR-professionals to support trans, intersex, and non-binary people at work, Transgender Netwerk has created this training toolkit. The toolkit can be used as a basis to develop your own training. It can also be used as a basis for new company policy.


The European project Inclusion4All was funded by the European Union under the ‘Rights, Equality and Citizenship’ program, and co-funded by the Dutch ministry of OCW. ‘Inclusion4All – Trans, intersex, and non-binary people at work’ is a project that ran from 2020 to 2022. We worked together with four international partnerorganisations: lgbti-organisation Háttér Társaság from Hungary, the University of Brescia from Italy, women’s emancipation organisation Surt from Spain, and Zagreb Pride from Croatia. Togehter we worked on fighting discrimination of trans, intersex, and non-binary people at work, by conducting research and creating training modules.
